Biography

Zhang Yaowu, male, Han ethnicity, a native of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. Born in November 1967. Joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in August 1993. Began his first job in August 1989. Graduated with a master's degree.

Zhang was the deputy general manager of Zhejiang International Exchange Corporation, the manager of International Exchange Department of Zhejiang International Exchange Corporation, and the deputy director of Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Exchange Center With Foreign Countries.

Now he is the director of Zhejiang Provincial Science & Technology Cooperation Center.

Institutional Functions

The main responsibilities are:

1.To carry out S&T cooperation and exchange activities, e.g. exhibitions and conferences, at home and abroad; to organize and facilitate the import and export of technologies.

2.To support and provide liaison services for high-end S&T professionals; to assist with management of foreign experts who work in China and evaluation of S&T professionals; to facilitate exchange and attraction of S&T professionals.

3.To provide consulting service and services relevant to S&T exchange activities, visits and trainings.

4.To support regional S&T cooperation, provide S&T assistance to oriented areas, and help with the introduction of renowned colleges and universities, S&T cooperation projects, management of cooperative platforms, etc.

5.To complete other tasks assigned by the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province.
